THE PROBLEM
A carpenter in Biddenham with 38 five-star reviews on Google, making alcove units, media walls, panelling, doors and floors. The website was a single page on Wix's free plan, with the Wix banner across the top and a bulleted list of services.
The best of the work was on Instagram, and nothing on the site showed what a made-to-measure piece looks like in a real room.
WHAT WE DID
The site is laid out like a joiner's drawing sheet: a title block down the left edge that doubles as the menu, and one column of text with the headings in the margin.
- Sketch yours. Type the alcove or wall in millimetres, choose doors, shelves, the TV and a finish, and it draws a dimensioned elevation you can send straight to Aaron on WhatsApp.
- The title block is the menu. A numbered drawing index, with the phone number always in view.
- Services as a cutting list. Each piece of work set out as a table, the way a joiner lists the timber for a job.
- Reviews as a ledger. Quotes from the Google reviews, by first name, in rows.
- No Wix banner. A domain of its own, with nothing advertising somebody else's product across the top.
- Ten pages for local search. A page each for the work people search for, like media walls and alcoves.
THE RESULT
A customer can measure their alcove, see roughly what it would look like and send it to Aaron with the sizes already written down. The services and reviews are ALT's own.
ALT Woodworking didn't commission this, so it's shown as a concept: a design we built unprompted to show what their site could be, using their own wording and photographs.
